The key difference between the B4 and B4 MOPA models lies in their laser parameters:
- Q-Switch: Offers a non-adjustable pulse width with a frequency range of 20kHz – 100kHz, making it ideal for high-speed metal engraving.
- JPT MOPA: Provides a wider pulse width range (1-500nm) and a frequency range of 1kHz – 4000kHz. This allows for better results on certain plastics and metals, including color marking on stainless steel and titanium, and high-precision engraving on plastic without burnt yellow color.
If your primary need is engraving metals quickly and deeply without the need for color engraving, the standard fiber laser engraver is a great choice. However, if your work involves detailed color marking, the MOPA option is superior.

The B4 50W Fiber Laser Engraver offers a standard work area of 4.3×4.3 inches (110×110 mm) and 7.8×7.8 inches (200×200 mm). For projects requiring different field sizes, additional lenses from 70mm to 200mm can be ordered, allowing for greater versatility in handling projects of varying sizes.
