If you’ve ever researched laser engravers, you’ve probably come across the same limitations again and again:
- Lasers de diodo can’t engrave on glass or clear acrylic.
- Lasers de fibra can’t touch wood.
- Co₂ lasers can’t engrave raw metal.
But what if I told you there’s another type of laser engraver—one that can engrave all of those materials, e mais? I’m talking about UV laser engraving.
Hoje, I’m sharing my full review and real-world test results using the ComMarker Omni 1, a UV laser engraver that, quite frankly, blew me away. If you’re looking for a versatile machine for your DIY workshop or laser engraving business, this review is for you.
Unboxing The Commarker Omni 1: Setup in Minutes
Let’s start with the basics. O Omni 1 UV laser engraver came in three large parts:
- O base (pre-attached cables)
- O tower (vertical column)
- O laser module
Assembly was simple—just 8 screws total. Four to attach the tower to the base, and another four to mount the laser head. Depois disso, plug in the cables and you’re ready to go. No complicated setup, no confusing wiring.
Honestamente, if you’ve ever struggled putting together a diode or CO₂ machine, this is refreshingly easy.
Para a ponta: It ships with two lenses—150mm and 75mm. I did most of my tests with the 150mm lens.
What Is a UV Laser Engraver (And Why It’s So Special)?
O ComMarker Omni 1 é um Gravador a laser UV, operating at 355nm with a 5W power rating. Agora, you might think 5 watts sounds weak—but don’t let that fool you.
Due to its short wavelength, the UV beam interacts differently with materials compared to CO₂ or diode lasers. It doesn’t rely on heat to burn or vaporize the surface. Em vez de, isto breaks molecular bonds, which makes it perfeito for high-detail, low-damage engraving.
And the results? They speak for themselves.

1 – Engraving on Aluminum Business Cards
Let’s start small—literally. I engraved a portrait and a logo onto black-coated aluminum business cards.
- Resultado: Razor-sharp lines, no smudging, incredibly small spot size.
- Detail Level: Think photorealistic at the size of a quarter.
This test alone showed me that the Omni 1 could handle the kind of precision normally reserved for machines triple the price.

2 – Engraving on Wood
Agora, you might assume UV lasers aren’t ideal for wood—but guess what? It engraved my sample wood blocks beautifully.
Dica: Settings matter. My first test ran too powerful and scorched the wood. Once I dialed in the frequência, Pulso Q, and line spacing, the engraving looked amazing.
No soot, no char, just a clean, crisp image of my daughter on birch.
3 – Ceramic Coasters
One of my favorite materials to engrave is ceramic, e o omni 1 nailed this job.
- No masking tape
- No pre-treatment
- Just pure UV power directly onto the surface.
If you’re thinking of adding engraved coasters to your product line—wedding gifts, company swag—this machine can handle it with ease.

4 – Stainless Steel and Brass
Here’s where the ComMarker Omni 1 truly shined.
- Aço inoxidável: Produced a deep black mark that I’ve never been able to get from my fiber laser.
- Brass Coins: Dark, legível, and no distortion, even on small text.
This alone makes it a great gravador a laser para metal if you want high-contrast marking without a fiber laser.

5 – Engraving on Felt & Cutting Cleanly
O Omni 1 includes some felt samples, and engraving was perfect—clean, no burn-through on the backside.
But I also tested cutting felt, using a thin cross shape. The cut was sharp, com zero char or melted edges. Honestamente, it looked like I used a scalpel, not a laser.

6 – Wax Tin Labels
Normally I use printed labels for my wax tins—but this time I engraved directly onto the metal lid. No smudging, no irregularities. The UV beam handled the curved surface and coating like a champ.
This could be a total game-changer for product packaging.

7 – Clear Acrylic and Glass
Here’s the moment you’ve been waiting for.
Clear acrylic? Verificar.
Vidro? Absolutamente.
No marking spray. No coating. Just place the object on the bed and go.
I tested:
- A flat glass panel with my logo
- A reused pickle jar
- A glass ornament (with gold paint fill)
All engraved beautifully. The only challenge was with round objects—without a rotary tool, getting the focus right is tricky. But with a rotary? You’re in business.
Business idea: Engraved ornaments, taças de vinho, lembrancinhas de casamento.

8 – Leather Patches
I engraved both brown and gray leather patches. The results were surprisingly consistent:
- No burn smell
- No cleanup needed
- Just clean, linhas definidas
These are ready to press onto hats or bags—no extra steps required.

9 – Cutting 3mm Wood (Sim, Corte!)
Most people say UV lasers are for marking only. But I tried cutting 3mm birch plywood using the inlay pattern “Faith,” and…
It cut beautifully.
There was no charring on the edges, no burning smell, and the final piece popped out easily. For hobbyists or small crafts, this machine can absolutely double as a cutter on thin materials.

10 – FOOD ENGRAVING (Sim, Seriamente!)
I engraved:
- An apple
- An orange
O resultado? No burnt smell. No flavor change. Just clear, surface-level engraving.
While you’re probably not engraving fruit daily, imagine this: engraved cookies or macarons for weddings, aniversários, or branded events. That’s a whole new revenue stream.
